RWE Renewables Ireland are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate through the provision of community benefit funds (CBF’s).
RWE brings over 25 years' of experience of delivering successful CBF’s which will help to ensure the effective delivery of our Irish community benefit fund commitments.
Listening to what is important to local people and building governance structures that put decision making into the hands of local representatives are vital to the successful set up and delivery of these funds.
Where our on and offshore wind farm projects are successful in the relevant Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) or Offshore Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (ORESS) we will offer a community benefit fund in line with the relevant scheme terms and conditions. You can learn more about RESS and ORESS here.
The success of our Dublin Array project in Ireland’s first ORESS in June 2023 brings us one step closer to the delivery of the Dublin Array Community Benefit Fund. Under the terms of ORESS, the fund will be worth €2 per megawatt hour (MWh). For Dublin Array this equates to approximately €6.5m a year for the term of the ORESS contract.
The fund is administered by the SECAD partnership. There will be a themed approach to funding.
